Try running an agentops session in a notebook-- logs won't upload.

UPDATE:

For this issue let's update all the example notebooks to have end_trace

Additionally, let's add a section to the docs explaining how logging works (i.e. Terminal Logs)

Opentelemetry's on_end method is what sends the logs.

Notebook execution is different then script, there is no "end" state of a notebook therefore on_end of InternalSpanProcessor is not executed, resulting in no upload of logs file. One way to deal with this is @the-praxs has updated notebook to use start_trace and end_trace methods which explicitly ends a trace.
Move logic from InternalSpanProcessor.on_end to TracingCore._end_single_trace. Test it with following scenarios init(auto_start_session=true) , init(auto_start_session=false) with trace decorator, init(auto_start_session=false) with start_trace and end_trace methods. This may help

Closing this issue as it was addressed by PR #1049 'terminal logs in jupyter notebooks' which was merged on June 5, 2025. The PR description explicitly states 'Addresses #989' and implements the fix for Jupyter notebook logs not working.
