Currently in woodwork we are struggling with frequent breakdowns which end up with tools out of order for weeks and a few people having to stop everything they're doing to be sidetracked fixing those tools.
In order to combat this, my plan is:
- record the periodic maintenance tasks that need doing in easy to follow ways
- record equipment needed to undertake that work
- Make a toolbox containing all that stuff just for maintainers
- recruit maintainers for these spoon fed tasks
I also think this will be a good way to increase volunteers because oiling a machine is a much smaller commitment than teaching, but will give people a way in.
