Trouble installing in flatpak-builder

I'm trying to install Alien::Base::Wrapper in flatpak-builder as I need it for BBC's get_iplayer inside the Parabolic Flatpak build.

All the Perl modules I need to bundle inside I install with the following instructions:

 perl Makefile.PL PREFIX=/app LIB=/app/lib
 make
 make install

Inside a Flatpak build, instead of /usr, the build uses /app because /usr is read-only. 😉

And that works for all the Perl modules I'm adding, so far:

perl-HTML-Entities
perl-HTTP-Cookies
perl-HTTP-Date
perl-HTTP-Headers
perl-Clone
perl-LWP-ConnCache
perl-URI
perl-Try-Tiny
perl-File-Which
perl-Alien-Base-Wrapper

However, I also need to bundle perl-XML-LibXML, and that requires Alien::Base::Wrapper to build, which I can't build yet. 😞

And this is why I'm opening this issue. 😄

You should probably use INSTALL_BASE rather than PREFIX and LIB: https://perldoc.perl.org/ExtUtils::MakeMaker#INSTALL_BASE

It's not an issue with this distribution, but I just want to note a couple of things your process should keep in mind:

1. Distributions that contain a Build.PL should be installed with that instead of with Makefile.PL (even if both are present):

perl Build.PL --install_base /app
perl Build
perl Build install

2. In order to run either Build.PL or Makefile.PL, the prerequisites listed under {prereqs}{configure}{requires} in META.json (or META.yml if META.json is not present) must be satisfied.

So first, I am indeed using INSTALL_BASE since I discovered it. 😉

However:

I was not referring to this distribution, but that running Makefile.PL is not correct if a Build.PL is present (and neither are the following make steps). This distribution does not contain a Build.PL, so your current steps are correct for this case.
