Easy GUI functions for transferring handpicked files to a new distro

Problem?

I'm towards the beginner stage of using Linux, and maybe this is easy.. but I would like a way to transfer handpicked files to a new distro before I delete an old one.

Solution

A simple (prefferably GUI method) to cherrypick files windows explorer style, and move them to a new distro.. When i click the folder button its blank (maybe I just need an extra FS tool installed? if so.. add an option to install that in the GUI.
