Using buf_lint_test with large amounts of protos can occasionally flake with a context deadline exceeded error surfacing via --buf-plugin_out: protoc-gen-buf-plugin: Plugin failed with status code 1.
There does not seem to be a way to configure the protoc-gen-buf-lint timeout attribute while using the buf_lint_test bazel rule.
