Android Emulator will not run

I have tried to create a sample image based on the advice given. However I get a wall of text stating connection aborted, Permission error. I then attempted to build the image manually. The image build went through and after tagging the image I tried to make a container with it. Without using some some switches such as -d and -it I looked out the container output and at the end it stated that hardware accelration is disabled and that it could not locate some file for KVM. I am running an ubuntu image in virtualbox and have nested virtualization enabled. Any advice is appreciated!

The permission error is due to docker requiring elevated permissions. You can look at an article on sudoless docker to overcome that. Are you able to run standard qemu inside virtual box?

Note you will likely experience performance degradation with nested virtualization

So we gave sudo permissions for docker to run which built the image but it still gave us the error I stated. Next QEmu runs on the machine after we have isntalled it.

Could you perhaps share the container logs? https://docs.docker.com/engine/reference/commandline/logs/

That will give us some insight into why the launch failed.

The "wall of text" makes it hard to tell what's actually failing. The Permission error and the "container exits silently" symptoms have been mostly addressed by #390 (docker_image() substring fix) and #396 (DOCKER_HOST honored). Closing as stale — please open a fresh issue with the full traceback if you reproduce on current master.
