Description of the new feature/enhancement (with images if possible)
Whilst I really like the fact that the lowercase i and l of upright Cascadia Code/Mono have different base style in upright font (lowercase i has a serif that extends from the middle bottom of the glyph to both the left and the right, lowercase l instead has the vertical line of the glyph curved toward the bottom right of the glyph) such is not the case for the italic font. And such I suggest there to be stylistic sets such as:
ss11: Switch to lowercase i with curved vertical line (for upright fonts) or lowercase i with a base serif (for italic fonts)
ss12: Switch to lowercase l with a base serif (for upright fonts as well as italic fonts)
As a neat bonus, I think that being able to apply ss11 for only italic fonts (as I suggested above) would solve the problem of the default italic i looking identical to iota that was brought up in this issue #684 (comment)
Thank you very much in advance for your consideration.
