Crash Debugging

Project: Consolation includes a crash-debugging page for testing unstable networking and render-path work in the PC version of 007: Quantum of Solace.

Current Status

This area is still experimental and is not fully reliable yet.

The current crash-debugging work is affected by Games for Windows - LIVE / XLive protections that are still present in the target environment. A patch attempt exists in xlive.cpp, but it is currently commented out because it does not fully work yet.

That means this page is mainly a reference point while the patching work is still being refined.

Notes

  • The goal is to make crash reproduction and debugging easier without destabilizing normal gameplay.
  • Until the XLive-related work is fully finished, crash debugging should be treated as in-progress.
  • Any examples or tooling tied to this page should be considered experimental until the patch is fully validated.
